Information for CHCs
I created CHCaDoc so that everyone in the US can learn what CHCs are and know they are always a healthcare option for EVERYONE. I also wish to support CHCs in outreach to their communities and in their marketing, campaign and event promotion, and fundraising efforts. I welcome calls and emails from CHC personnel to discuss how CHCaDoc can assist in your goals. I eagerly invite critique and will take your recommendations seriously!
Map listings for all CHCs are NO COST FOREVER. I am working on other monetization strategies to cover costs for providing services CHCs consider beneficial. I am asking YOU to tell me what those services may be! I welcome emails and phone calls.
I am developing my database of CHC locations and information by aggregating content from numerous public sources. Much of the information I am finding is out of date or minimally helpful. The sources I am checking are so disparate, I am certain I have still missed some CHC operators. Please contact me with any information I failed to find!
After identifying a CHC operator, I painstakingly review each website. The information I’ve presented in location map listings is based on a CHC’s own website content. If some of this information was generalized or nonspecific, I made my best determination by conducting further research. I did not include anything I determined to be unverifiable.
I have developed a Google Form to submit corrections and updates from verifiable, authorized CHC personnel. I hope you will find it convenient to use. I welcome your critique and recommendations for this form as well!
I will not rent or sell the database I am developing. No one else has access to it. It is secured and redundantly backed up.
I am seeking advertisers but I wish to keep ads relevant and helpful to site visitors. I have not developed the site to support space for Google Ads. I am looking into offering low-profile sponsorship opportunities to vendors who serve the CHC market.
I started this project knowing only as much about CHCs as I could research myself. I am particularly interested in learning more about the many benefits of the community approach to healthcare provision. In these currently divisive times when already marginalized people are being decried and vilified, I find it deeply heartening to read of the unconditional welcoming and nonjudgmental care CHCs offer around the nation. I seek to learn about CHC culture and needs. As an outsider, I have wondered what could happen if more people become aware of the CHC model—
- Considering how many people opposed the Affordable Care Act, could an understanding of the CHC model illustrate for more Americans how the US government can support healthcare without being the provider of healthcare?
- Wouldn’t many Americans find the Sliding Scale payment structure to be fair and reasonable?
- Would greater awareness of the work of CHCs and an understanding of the community approach to healthcare inspire more people to donate to CHCs in their communities?
- Given the spread of anti-science sentiment across the US, could a greater awareness of the community approach to healthcare guide more people to grasp the importance of public health measures?
As I continue to pore over CHC websites every day, I am inspired to believe the CHC model represents what healthcare in America should be — or maybe even, could be, someday!
I am committed to being an advocate for healthcare as a fundamental human right for EVERYONE!
